The energy in Nachshonim this week has been absolutely contagious! From messy camp-wide competitions to meaningful service projects and new opportunities for learning and growth, the Nachshonim unit has been making the most of every moment. Here’s a look at what they’ve been up to this week:
One of the biggest highlights was Organized Mass Chaos, Camp Coleman’s newest twist on the classic Super Sloppy Night. Nachshonim campers spent the evening racing through challenges, dodging water balloons, getting covered in shaving cream, and laughing from start to finish. The sounds of cheers, laughter, and friendly competition could be heard across camp as cabins worked together and embraced every messy moment.
Between all the excitement, campers also had the opportunity to create memory boxes—a chance to pause and reflect on the friendships, adventures, and special moments that are already making this summer unforgettable. These keepsakes will help capture the magic of camp and the memories being made each day.
This week also marked the start of LaB (Learning and Belonging), Camp Coleman’s unique Jewish learning program. Nachshonim campers jumped into electives that encouraged curiosity, exploration, and meaningful conversations while helping them build deeper connections with one another, Jewish values, and the wider Jewish community.
During Yom Kehillah, Nachshonim campers put those values into action through a variety of service projects around camp. Whether they were helping beautify the Hillman area, cleaning plaques, working in the garden, creating flash cards, or assembling line soldiers, campers took pride in making a positive impact on the community they call home each summer.
From getting messy with their friends to giving back to camp and creating memories that will last long after the summer ends, the Nachshonim unit has embraced every moment of the week with enthusiasm, kindness, and plenty of Coleman spirit. We can’t wait to see what adventures next week brings!
