Ten days into the summer, the Tsofim unit has fully embraced camp life and all the adventures that come with it. The cabins are filled with laughter, inside jokes, and the kind of friendships that seem to grow stronger with every passing day. Whether the Tsofim campers arrived with lifelong camp friends or came ready to meet new people, the Tsofim community has quickly become a place where everyone feels connected and supported.
One thing that has stood out these past ten days is the incredible energy that Tsofim brings to every part of camp. From cheering each other on during activities to diving headfirst into evening programs, campers have approached each day with enthusiasm and excitement. Some of the biggest highlights so far have been Battle of the Bunks and Dancing with the Stars, where cabins showed off their teamwork, creativity, and camp spirit. Another favorite was Zombies, an action-packed game of tag that had campers running, strategizing, and laughing all over camp.
Beyond the excitement of programs, many campers have discovered a new favorite activity area: Campscape. This unique program gives campers the opportunity to explore gardening, sustainability, and hands-on creativity. Campers have spent time caring for plants, learning about where food comes from, creating all-natural soaps and dream pillows, and interacting with the goats and chickens that call Campscape home. The Tsofim campers were especially excited to help name some of the newest chickens—Bucket, Bubba, and Papaya—who have already become local celebrities around camp.
The friendships forming throughout the unit continue to be one of the most special parts of the summer. Tsofim Unit Head Emily Hogwood shared a meaningful tradition that has developed in Cabin 16A. Each night before bed, campers take a moment to recognize someone who made a positive impact on their day. The camper being recognized receives a bead, and over time those beads are being turned into friendship bracelets. What began as a simple nightly ritual has become a powerful reminder of the kindness, appreciation, and encouragement that campers show one another every day.
As the summer continues, Tsofim campers are making memories, trying new things, and creating friendships that will last long after they leave camp. We are so proud of the community they have built together and cannot wait to see what the rest of the session has in store!
