The Tsofim unit continues to thrive as the summer flies by! What has become most evident over the past few weeks is the incredibly close-knit community this group has built together. Whether campers arrived with lifelong camp friends or made brand-new connections this summer, Tsofim has become a unit where everyone feels like they belong. From cheering one another on during activities to dancing through the Chadar and bringing nonstop ruach (spirit) to Song Session, Tsofim’s energy has become contagious across camp. Their enthusiasm, kindness, and willingness to jump into every experience have made them a true highlight of the Camp Coleman community.
The fun has continued long after the sun goes down with unforgettable evening programs. One relaxing evening, the entire unit gathered around a campfire where campers roasted marshmallows, played card games with friends, sang songs under the stars, and simply enjoyed spending time together. It was one of those classic camp nights that campers will remember long after the summer ends.
Another standout favorite was Camp Coleman’s newest twist on Super Sloppy Night: Organized Mass Chaos, better known as OMC! Tsofim made history as the very first Tsofim unit to experience this brand-new evening program. Campers raced through messy challenges filled with shaving cream, mud, paint, water, and plenty of laughter. From start to finish, they fully embraced the chaos, encouraged one another through every challenge, and walked away smiling from head to toe. It quickly became one of the unit’s favorite evenings of the summer.
The campers have also loved Saturday’s Mandatory Optionals, where they get the opportunity to design their own day based on their interests. Some campers headed to the lake for waterfront fun, while others challenged themselves on the ropes course or spent time creating in the Arts Room. Many Tsofim campers hopped aboard the Israeli Cash Cab, a festive golf cart driven by our Israeli staff. As they cruised around camp, campers answered trivia questions about Israel before arriving to make delicious chocolate pita cooked over a handmade outdoor fire stove. Another popular choice was Jewish Cooking, where campers worked together to prepare delicious dishes before competing in a fun “Top Chef”-style judging competition. Watching campers explore new interests while enjoying the independence to choose their own adventures has been a wonderful part of the summer.
Of course, one of the biggest highlights of camp right now is MAC, and the Tsofim unit has thrown themselves into the excitement! This year’s Madagascar-themed color war has campers proudly representing their teams with incredible spirit and enthusiasm. Cabin 4A, 15A, and 16A are competing as the Red Alexes, led by camper captains Cooper C. and Nora P. Meanwhile, Cabin 4B and 15B are proudly representing the Blue Martys, led by camper captains Josh A. and Hannah F. From decorating shirts and learning cheers to encouraging teammates and giving every competition their all, Tsofim has brought outstanding ruach to every MAC event. Their excitement has been impossible to miss, and they continue to show what it means to compete with both passion and sportsmanship.
With another beautiful Shabbat just ahead and the final week of camp quickly approaching, the Tsofim unit is making every moment count. Between strengthening friendships, embracing new experiences, and filling each day with laughter and spirit, this remarkable group continues to create memories that will last far beyond the summer. We can’t wait to see what this final week has in store for our incredible Tsofim campers!
