The excitement of MAC in Time continued into Day Two as campers stepped into a Chadar unlike anything they’d ever seen before. Overnight, the dining hall had been completely transformed into a giant time machine, with walls covered in decorations inspired by the week’s theme. Familiar characters from different moments in time surrounded the room, immersing campers in the adventure from the moment they walked through the doors. Dressed proudly in their red and blue team colors, campers enjoyed breakfast while taking in the incredible decorations and getting ready for another action-packed day of MAC.
After breakfast, each team gathered for their morning team meetings. The Blue Team filled the Brody while the Red Team met in the Elisheva, where teammates came together to review the day’s schedule, build excitement, and prepare for the challenges ahead. Team spirit was on full display as campers encouraged one another before heading off to their first rotations.
Throughout the day, campers rotated through a variety of activities and challenges that tested everything from teamwork and communication to creativity and problem-solving. Every event gave campers another opportunity to earn valuable points for their team while working alongside friends old and new. Whether they were racing against the clock, solving challenges together, or cheering on their teammates, every rotation was filled with laughter, determination, and nonstop ruach.
One of the most anticipated traditions of every MAC took place at lunchtime: Silent Lunch.
For anyone unfamiliar with the tradition, Silent Lunch is exactly what it sounds like. Hundreds of campers and staff gather together in the Chadar, but no one is allowed to speak. Instead, campers communicate entirely through hand motions, pointing, smiles, and exaggerated gestures to ask for food to be passed or to help one another. If a team accidentally makes a sound or starts talking, points are deducted.
It’s one of the funniest sights to witness at Camp Coleman. A dining hall that is usually filled with singing, cheering, and nonstop conversation suddenly becomes almost completely silent. Watching hundreds of campers successfully communicate without words while trying not to laugh has become one of MAC’s most beloved traditions.
The afternoon brought even more rotations, exciting games, and opportunities for both teams to continue earning points before everyone gathered for one of the most iconic events of MAC: Rope Burn.
As campers lined the sidelines dressed in red and blue, the energy across camp reached another level. Teammates cheered as competitors gave everything they had in one of MAC’s signature competitions. Rope Burn is about far more than strength—it’s about trust, determination, teamwork, and the incredible support campers show one another from beginning to end.
After an unforgettable battle, the Red Team emerged victorious in this year’s Rope Burn, earning valuable points and celebrating together after an incredible display of teamwork and perseverance.
With two exciting days now behind us, the competition continues to grow closer, the team spirit continues to build, and campers are making memories they’ll remember long after the final points are counted. We can’t wait to see what Day Three of MAC in Time has in store!
