What an incredible session it has been for the Kochavim unit! Over the past three weeks, Kochavimers have truly found their place at Camp Coleman, building meaningful friendships, growing as a community, and embracing every opportunity that camp has to offer. It has been wonderful to watch this group become so connected, supporting one another through every adventure while creating memories that will last far beyond the summer.
Now fully immersed in camp life, Kochavimers have become true Camp Coleman experts. From confidently making their way around camp to enthusiastically jumping into each day’s activities, they have embraced every moment with excitement and curiosity. Whether they’re walking to activities with friends, cheering each other on throughout the day, or dancing together during Song Session, Kochavim has become a vibrant and joyful part of the Camp Coleman community.
As the session continued, campers had the opportunity to select a brand-new round of electives, giving them even more chances to explore new interests and discover hidden talents. Across Tarbut, Omanut, Etgar, and Sports, Kochavimers eagerly jumped into their new adventures. This round, some of the unit favorites have included ceramics, jewelry making in Metals, dance, Circus Arts on the trapeze, basketball, and soccer. It has been exciting to see campers challenge themselves, build new skills, and celebrate each other’s accomplishments along the way.
The fun certainly didn’t stop when the sun went down. Evening programs have continued to be a highlight for the Kochavim unit, filling each night with laughter, teamwork, and unforgettable memories. Some of the biggest favorites have included Life-Size Board Game, Wacky Carnival, Camper vs. Staff, Jews on Mars, and gathering around the campfire to roast marshmallows, sing songs, and spend quality time with friends under the stars. These shared experiences have helped strengthen the friendships that have blossomed throughout the session and created countless moments of joy.
One of the biggest highlights of the summer was undoubtedly MAC in Time. Camp transformed into an exciting journey through time as campers proudly dressed in their team colors, competed in spirited challenges, and filled every event with incredible ruach. Throughout MAC, Kochavimers could be heard cheering at the top of their lungs, encouraging teammates, and giving every competition their all. From high-energy games to unforgettable traditions like Rope Burn, the excitement of MAC brought the entire camp together while creating memories that will be talked about long after the summer ends. No matter the outcome of each event, Kochavimers demonstrated outstanding teamwork, sportsmanship, and Camp Coleman spirit every step of the way.
Throughout MAC, Kochavimers proudly represented both teams. Cabins 11A, 18, and 8B competed as the Red Martys, led by camper captains Jordi A. and Dora A. Meanwhile, cabins 11B and 13B represented the Blue Docs, with camper captains Asher W. and Chloe Y. S. leading their teammates with enthusiasm and pride. It was wonderful to see campers cheering one another on, embracing friendly competition, and showing what it truly means to be part of the Camp Coleman community.
As the session continues, one thing is certain: Kochavim has made the most of every single day. The friendships built, the confidence gained, the laughter shared, and the memories created have made this an unforgettable summer for every camper. We are so proud of this incredible unit and cannot wait to watch them finish the session strong while making even more Camp Coleman memories together.
