NEW for 2020: Machon Adventure (5 weeks)
Dates: June 28 - July 30, 2020
Overview: Machon Adventure participants spend a week living outdoors gaining outdoor living skills and engaging in a variety of adventure activities. Note: this program has been revamped for 2020 and no longer includes an Outward Bound backpacking trip.
Who should apply: The Machon Adventure Program is best for teens that have a desire to grow as individuals and learn to push their own limits. The ideal candidates have a desire to try new things and step outside their comfort zone.
- Spend 1 week camping and 4 weeks at Coleman.
- Develop outdoor living skills and cook your own food.
- 2-day whitewater rafting trip, ziplining course, and amazing hiking.
- Get certified in Wilderness First Aid
- Live in Machon Village during second session.
During the Machon Adventure week, participants will learn to setup a campsite and how to cook their own meals. In partnership with Landmark Learning, participants will also receive training and certification in Wilderness First Aid, a 2-day advanced first aid course. The week also includes several outdoor adventure experiences, including whitewater rafting, hiking, and ziplining. You will push your limits both physically and emotionally and take pride in your accomplishments.
Participants of this program will arrive back at camp on opening day of 2nd session and will spend the next 4 weeks incorporating their Machon Adventure experience into our Leadership Development and Staff-in-training program.
