Hello from Nachshonim! Although we missed our Tsofim summer, this unit came to Coleman with plenty of ruach. The biggest unit in camp, Nachshonim brings plenty of spirit to evening programs, gaga, and Shabbat song sessions! Along with having tons of fun at sports, etgar, tarbut, and omanut, Nachshonim has spent the session learning about what it means to be a hero. At daily mashehu programs, the campers discuss real-world issues and work together to brainstorm creative solutions. We have talked about a range of Jewish heroes, from historical figures like Anne Frank and Ruth Bader Ginsburg to modern heroes in popular culture.
Nachshonim is all about balancing our serious times with lots of fun! We competed in Maccabiah — Avengers: Into the MACiverse. The Red Avengers (Scarlet Witch, Spiderman, and Iron Man) took on the Blue Avengers (Captain America, Black Widow, and the Hulk), and the blue team took the victory! Whether they won or lost, all the campers had so much kef. Although the summer is wrapping up, Nachshonim made so many amazing memories, and we can’t wait to see them back at Coleman in 2022!
