Kochavim has been having a fantastic time at camp. From Gaga, to the pool, to services, they’ve loved it all. The cabins B3A/B and GS3, while safely separately podded, have been able to come together as a unit and enjoy the magic of camp.
We’ve learned about all the different aspects of Israel such as the people, the geography, and the history. We’ve done ”Are you smarter than a fifth-grader” we’re we learned they are at least as smart as fourth graders. We put on a talent show and game show. They did “Kochavim Olympics” where they played Gaga, Dodgeball, Ultimate frisbee, and soccer. And we’ve learned about Showing compassion for others and shared stories of times we have in the past.
The growth each camper has shown this past week has been astounding. Some kids who were homesick at first, now engage more than anyone else. Even shouting at the top of their lungs that camp is beautiful. Kids who didn’t believe they could throw a ball a meter are playing till they’re about to drop. And kids who wouldn’t sit still for a second listen intently in services. They dance, and sing, and joke, and play, and we could not be more excited to have 3 more weeks with them.
