We’re thrilled to introduce you to our fantastic, talented, and passionate team of supervisors who will be ensuring our campers and staff have a fun,  memorable, and safe summer. Joining the year-round team are incredible staff members who are multi-talented and bring many years of experience and passion to their positions:

Abby Limor - Head of Yeladim

Abby is very excited to be the Head of Yeladim this year for her 6th summer at camp! Abby just finished her sophomore year at The College of Charleston where she is studying Psychology with a double minor in Jewish Studies and Education. She is looking forward to stepping into this role and welcoming everyone back to camp this summer!

Naomi Litwak - Taste of Coleman Unit HEad

Naomi is beyond excited to be returning to Camp Coleman as the Taste of Coleman Unit Head! She has been a part of the Coleman family for the past 12 summers, 5 of those on staff as a counselor (both boys and girls!) and most recently as the 2022 Bonim Unit Head. Naomi graduated from the University of Central Florida in May 2022 with a Bachelors in Social Work and is currently working as the Director of Youth Programming at Congregation Schaarai Zedek in Tampa, FL. She loves spending her summers at Coleman and counts down the days until she can return. Naomi’s favorite part about camp is the community built amongst our staff and campers. She also loves spending time in the Minsky and wandering around our beautiful facilities. Naomi is looking forward to sharing her endless love for the Coleman community with our newest TOC campers!

Seth cohen - Bonim Unit Head

Seth is excited to be returning to Camp Coleman as the Bonim Unit Head! He spent 4 amazing summers at Camp Coleman as a camper, and is now back for his 4th summer on staff. Seth graduated from Penn State University, earning a degree in Meteorology. Seth currently lives in Miami Beach, where during the school year, he works at Temple Beth Sholom as the Youth Director. When not at camp, you can find him at the beach, hanging out with friends and rooting on his Philly sports teams. Seth can’t wait for the summer to start and is looking forward to having an amazing summer. 

Camila Umansky - Kochavim Unit Head

Camila Umansky was born and raised in Porto Alegre, Brazil. She grew up going to a Jewish school, which, along with family heritage, made her develop a deep connection with judaism. At the age of 14, she joined the Jewish youth movement Habonim Dror, in which she participated as an educator and a leader. When she graduated High School, she went to college pursuing an education degree, because she knew that educating was her passion. In 2019, she spent the year learning and working as a volunteer in Israel.  When she came back, she became a teacher at the Jewish school where she previously was a student and at a reform synagogue. In 2022, Camila made the decision to move to Florida along with her family. She now works as a Religious School teacher and Bnei Mitzvah tutor at Temple Beth El of Boca Raton and continues to study education. 

Skylar Kramer - Solelim Unit HEad

As a recent college graduate and the new Experiential Education Director for Temple Judea in Coral Gables, Fl I am so excited for my very first summer at URJ Camp Coleman. Before moving to florida, I spent my summers as a camper attending URJ Greene Family Camp in Bruceville, Tx. I can’t wait to see how my camp family continues to grow here in the beautiful Georgia mountains. While I’m at camp, my dog and cat, Dude and Guy, will be off on their own adventure, staying with my mom on her farm! When I’m not at camp, we spend our days exploring my new city, and enjoying the beach. 

Sophie Brilliant - Tsofim Unit HEad

Hi I’m Sophie,
I’m from South Florida & I’ve been a part of the Coleman family for 15 years. I recently graduated from Reichman University with a degree in marketing and plan to go into nonprofit Jewish work. I’m looking forward to this summer and meeting everyone. The most exciting part about camp for me is being able to tie dye and mountain bike! Also….SONG SESSIONS!

Haley Johnston - Nachshonim Unit Head

Haley Johnston is spending her 10th summer at Coleman after graduating with her Masters in Social Work from the University of Central Florida (go knights!) She is so excited to be the Nachshonim unit head for her fourth year on staff! When she’s not at camp, she enjoys baking and reading! She absolutely can’t wait to meet all of the Nachshonim campers! 

Lindsay Rosenzweig - Kesher Unit HEad

Lindsay Rosenzweig grew up in Charlotte, North Carolina. She graduated from Elon University in May 2022 and worked at a legal nonprofit during the last year. In August, she is moving to Orlando to work at Central Florida Hillel as their Springboard Fellow! Lindsay went to Coleman as a camper for 6 summers and was on staff as a counselor in 2018 and 2019. Her favorite camp activities include Coleman Rocks, Israeli Scouts and Jewish Cooking. Lindsay is so excited to return to the Coleman community this summer as the Kesher Unit Head and to get to know the staff and campers!

Ben Rembaum - Chalutzim Unit Head

Ben is beyond excited to be coming back to camp this summer as the Chalutzim Unit Head! Ben was born and raised in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida and attended the University of Central Florida, where he was heavily involved on campus. Ben graduated from the University of Central Florida in 2022 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics. Ben has been coming to camp since 2011 and his first year on staff was in 2018. This will be Ben’s fifth summer on staff and his third as a unit head, previously serving as the Solelim and Kesher unit heads. Since graduation, Ben has been working as a Legislative Aide within the Florida House of Representatives. Ben is looking forward to seeing all the campers again and making sure they have the best summer yet!!

Lauren Davis - Machon Unit Head

Lauren Davis graduated in May 2020 from Florida State University with a major in Music and minor in Child Development.  She has been part of the Camp Coleman family for 16 years first as a camper and in recent years as a counselor, programmer and unit head.  With a passion for music and teaching, Lauren has a warm and dynamic personality.

During college, Lauren took part in a voyage around the world in the Semester at Sea program where she visited 30+ countries.  In her spare time, she continues her love of music by teaching piano, camping and travel.  A cool fact about Lauren is that she has a huge family that included an identical twin sister!

Lucinda Traves - Tarbut Coordinator

Lucinda is coming to Coleman for her 6th summer this year returning to her role asTarbut coordinator! Lucinda has previously worked in the aquatics department, the art rooms, and in photography, and is excited to return to her role at camp! Lucinda graduated from University of Lincoln with a degree in fashion, and continued on to complete her postgraduate degree in Secondary School education at Liverpool Hope University, and since graduating has been working as a high school art and graphics teacher. She is excited to be travelling back over from England for another summer of fun with her favourite people in her favourite place, and is excited to help campers make memories that will last a lifetime!”

Olivia Traves - Aquatics Coordinator

Olivia is excited to be returning to camp as the Aquatics Coordinator this year!  Having grown up in Cheshire, England, Olivia first came to Coleman in 2018, and has returned each summer. Olivia graduated from Edge Hill University with a 1st class honors in Drama in 2019, and she currently works as a swim teacher and lifeguard; which she has been doing since 2013! With all of her experience in Aquatics, Olivia is eager to be bringing her knowledge, and passion back to the Aquatics department, and she can’t wait to be back helping to create amazing memories of everyone’s best summer yet!

Rachel Glazer - Omanut Coordinator

Rachel Glazer is ready to make some beautiful mess-terpieces with campers in the Minsky this summer! This will be her 5th summer on staff (after a 7-year wait!), and she is looking forward to helping campers and staff flourish as the Omanut Coordinator. Whether it shows up in a friendship bracelet, slice of challah, pinch pot, wood-burned plaque, or tie-dyed t-shirt, everyone has a creative spark just waiting to grow! Originally from Gainesville, GA (right down the road from camp), Rachel is now the Assistant Director of Youth Education and Engagement and the LIBERTY advisor at Temple Beth El in Charlotte, NC, where she lives with her partner, Sam, and their two cats. She is currently earning her Master’s in Experiential Jewish Education from The George Washington University.

Judy Limor - Etgar Coordinator / Coleman Quest Program Leader

Judy first joined the Coleman community as a SEFTYite in 1990. She has since been involved with camp in many ways, including counselor, Song leader, and faculty, and most recently supports Coleman’s year-round programming as a Challenge Course Facilitator. Judy is excited to be joining Coleman’s staff as the Program Leader for Coleman Quest and can’t wait to kick off this new specialty camp for the Summer of 2023. She brings to the Coleman family her love of the outdoors, her extensive training in experiential education, and a passion for working with teens.

Judy has a Master’s of Science in Curriculum and Instruction and has worked in education for more than 20 years. In the off-season, she is the Assistant Head of School at The GLOBE Academy in Atlanta, GA. Judy lives in Dunwoody with her husband and 3 children and enjoys hiking and spending time outside.

Brian Jonas - Sports Coordinator

Brian or “Jonas” as all of you call me is happy and proud to come back to my second home, Camp Coleman!!!!  This is my sixth summer on staff as the Sports Coordinator.  I am a middle school teacher at Coleman Middle School in Tampa, FL during the school year and attend camp with my two daughters Violet and Chloe.  I have been attending sleep away camps since I was seven years old, and I am so grateful that I get to share this awesome experience with the campers this summer.  This will be the best summer yet, and I look forward to spending time with all of you on the fields!!!!  See you soon.

trent Kaplan - Head of Media

Trent Kaplan has spent 3 years on staff, as well as being a camper at Camp Coleman, immersing himself in the vibrant community. He started as a counselor and most recently took on the role of Head of Media.

Originally from Boca Raton, Florida, Trent pursued his passion for storytelling and raising awareness through photography. He studied Photojournalism at Syracuse University Newhouse and Psychology at the School of Arts and Sciences.

Currently, Trent continues to refine his skills as a staff photographer for local independent Syracuse newspapers, The Daily Orange and NewsHouse. When he’s not capturing memorable moments at camp, Trent enjoys cooking, working out, or even practicing yoga to find his inner peace amidst the summer camp buzz. We are thrilled to have Trent manage our entire media team this year and bring his talent and passion to create lasting memories of our summer adventures.

GRACE SHERMAN - ART DIRECTOR

 Grace is currently the Art Director and Artist in Residence at URJ Camp Coleman. Since 1993 she has impacted the lives of Coleman campers, staff, and Coleman itself, creating a unique experience in a limitless art environment, exploding with creativity, where people are encouraged to flourish and create. In honor of Grace’s 30 years as Art Director, the Art Room has been renamed ‘Graceland’.

Throughout her career Grace has taught and created community art projects with diverse populations and believes in the boundless imagination and vast potential of others, especially when working together.

Grace is a nationally recognized multi–media artist and award-winning Glass Artist.

 

Kynley Mentle - Head Nurse

This will be my second summer at Camp Coleman, and my first co-leading with Mollie. I currently live in Roswell, GA. I have a daughter who will be in Yeladim this year. I practiced ICU nursing in FL for 8 years before moving to GA. I stayed home with my daughter for a few years before jumping back in at Camp Coleman. Look forward to an exciting and fun summer!!

Mollie Brusca - Head Nurse

Mollie is happy to be co-leading the nursing staff this summer.  This will be her third summer on staff and is excited to return to such a great place! Mollie currently lives in Alpharetta, Georgia and has two excited campers. She has been a nurse for over 12 years and has practiced as a Nurse practitioner for 4 years. She grew up in Ohio and attended a URJ sister camp. She is looking forward to a great summer!
