If we had to sum up Kesher’s first week in two words they would be hyped and connected. From day one, this group came in ready to go, loud and proud, already forming the kind of friendships that usually take weeks to build.

One of our most memorable moments this week was leading the first unit-led service of the session. Our Kesher service (on Thursday) set the tone: thoughtful, intentional, and full of ruach. We were so proud watching our campers step up and shine.

We also had an unforgettable night around the campfire… and then, thanks to the weather, inside the Brody! Just as we finished making s’mores, it started to rain. We quickly relocated, only to find that Kochavim was setting up for siyuum. Instead of it being a conflict, it turned into a collaboration. Kesher joined in, modeling kindness and flexibility, and before long the two units were singing together in what turned into an impromptu, magical song session.

Another big highlight: rotations officially started! Campers picked their first set of activities and dove into krav maga, ropes, Jewish cooking, drama, and more. There’s a buzz in the air every time they head to a new activity—the kind that only happens when kids get to do something they chose.

And in true Kesher style, we kicked off the session with two birthdays and the whole unit went all out, celebrating their friends with so much love and joy, it set the tone for the rest of the week.

It’s only week one, but the connection in Kesher is real. The best is still ahead.
