Camp Coleman thrives when its people lead with heart. This week, both campers and staff showed up for each other in quiet, powerful ways — putting our core values of Kehillah (community), Chesed (kindness), Kavod (respect), and Shalom (peace) into action.
Camper Highlights
-
Caroline E. (Solelim) comforted a bunkmate who was panicking over a cockroach by calmly finding and removing it herself. It wasn’t about the bug — it was about helping a friend feel safe.
-
Sam E. & Jacob B. (Nachshonim) came to Jewish Cooking during mand-ops and, after eating, asked to help clean. They swept floors and lifted the mood. When offered chocolate chips in thanks, they smiled and said no thanks — they were just happy to help.
-
Vivian & Drew (Kochavim) saw a mess after an activity and asked how they could help. They wiped tables and swept without being asked, bringing good energy and true Kehillah into the room.
-
Blake W. (Solelim) stayed calm mid-climb when ropes got tangled on the Vertical Playpen. His peaceful attitude helped the ropes team fix the issue quickly, and he finished the climb like it was no big deal.
-
Addison F. (Solelim) is the MVP of pass and stack. She clears dishes, helps friends, and always volunteers to take up the bus bin — with a smile.
-
Nora W. & Katie A. (Nachshonim) helped clean up LaB materials after a Solelim activity, speeding up the reset and making things easier for staff and faculty.
-
Taylor B. (Chalutzim) quietly made sure others were okay during MAC. She held a fan for an overheated camper during silent lunch so they could focus on eating and recovering. That’s next-level Chesed.
-
Emily K. (Chalutzim) brings steady empathy and perspective. When her counselors don’t know the answer to something, she encourages patience and understanding among her peers.
-
Nadav S. (Chalutzim) led his MAC team in a perfectly executed synchronized swimming routine. His enthusiasm and spirit brought everyone together.
-
Sydney D. (Solelim) kept MAC energy high, leading her team with positivity and excitement — all during her first summer at camp.
-
Maya L. (Chalutzim) shows up every day with quiet kindness. She checks in on friends and helps her unit feel more connected just by being herself.
-
Dylan G., Joel S., & Max L. (Kesher) stepped in during a rain delay to help lead a Bonim program. They talked with younger campers, cheered them on, and made the space feel welcoming.
-
Noah K. (Solelim) consistently helps his cabin during meals — clearing tables and making sure everyone’s on track. He brings structure and care to every clean-up.
-
Suzanne L. (Chalutzim) saw her friend struggling to walk with an injury and didn’t hesitate to step in and support her — literally — walking slowly by her side.
-
Declan S. (Bonim) led a beadie baby activity during mand-ops with patience and excitement. He made sure everyone was included, helped others learn, and cleaned up the space with his friends afterward.
-
Sofia G. (Solelim) leads by example — not with volume, but with presence. She listens, respects boundaries, and makes everyone feel included and supported.
-
Josh L. & Mila S. (Machon) helped care for a fellow Machon camper in the health center, bringing what was needed and checking in. After giving their all during MAC, they still showed up to support a friend.
-
Benny W. (Chalutzim) volunteered to go with a Bonim camper to an activity when the camper didn’t have a buddy. It turned into a great day — and a new friendship.

Staff Spotlights
Mia S. (Drama Staff)
Mia is the kind of teammate every staff hopes for. She quietly gets things done without needing the spotlight, stepping in to support campers, co-staff, or anyone who needs an extra hand. In rehearsals, she brings calm and focus. Offstage, she’s reliable, thoughtful, and always there when it counts.
Jayme L. (Quest, Ropes, Nature, and Taste of Coleman)
Jayme’s impact stretches across camp. From guiding Quest campers through ropes courses to making first-time campers feel at home in Taste of Coleman, she brings energy, patience, and genuine care to every moment. Her ability to jump into any role with 110% effort has helped build stronger campers and a stronger community.
Liv F. (Counselor)
Liv is the heart of any space she walks into. Her passion for Jewish life is matched only by her ability to lift up campers and staff alike. Whether she’s leading, supporting, or just showing up with positivity, Liv brings out the best in others — and reminds us why camp is so special.
