Week 2 at Camp Coleman brought a rhythm of its own — new friendships took root, old ones deepened, and the heart of our community grew stronger. Campers and staff continued to model our core values of Chesed (kindness), Kehillah (community), Kavod (respect), and Shalom (peace) in quiet, steady, and powerful ways.

Camper Highlights

  • Jonathan L. (Chalutzim) jumped into a long-standing unit with warmth and grace. Whether helping during activities, lifting others up, or setting the tone in nikayon, he’s become a steady, positive force in his bunk.

  • Dylan G. (Tsofim) has gone out of his way to support a fellow camper with a disability — helping with navigation, offering kindness, and creating a more inclusive experience.

  • Nels R. (Tsofim) may be new, but he’s already a role model. Always helpful, always kind, and always looking out for others during cleanup and transitions.

  • Dylan G. (again!) calmly stepped in to defuse a disagreement between campers during the Machon Takeover, showing leadership and maturity beyond his years.

  • Caleb W. (Bonim) has become famous for one thing: holding the door open — every day, multiple times, for everyone. His consistency and quiet care are a beautiful example of Chesed.

  • Benny L. & Cole F. (Solelim) led by example in the music elective. Benny taught Cole “Wagon Wheel” on guitar, and Cole turned right around to teach others. A musical chain of Kehillah.

  • Bennet (Kesher) noticed a younger camper sitting alone at Mand-Ops and made it his mission to include him — introducing him to friends and encouraging him to try something new.

  • Adina G. (Bonim) gave up her warm, early shower time for a friend who was at the end of the line — just so they wouldn’t be stuck with cold water. That’s real Kavod.

  • Lindsey S. (Solelim) quietly helps others during nikayon — even when they’re not in the cabin or struggling to get started — and never asks for recognition.

  • Leah F. (Kochavim) starts every LaB session by sweeping the CJ Lounge — unprompted, just because she wants to make it better for everyone.

  • Dylan K. (Solelim) is the kind of camper who jumps in during activities, cleans up after others, and is always first to refill the water or carry the bin. He does it with joy.

  • Alex B. (Kochavim) passes and stacks for the table like a pro — not just her own dishes, but others too. She shows up every meal, every time, with a smile.

  • Dylan H. (Tsofim) encourages his friends, volunteers to help, and never stops asking how he can support the group.

  • Asher R. (Chalutzim) gave up his spot in a special activity for someone who really wanted it — and later helped calm a group and clean a mud-soaked shoe during a hike. Always helpful. Always smiling.

  • Hailey S. (Kochavim) swapped bunks with an injured friend — without hesitation. She saw the need and met it with Kavod and care.

Staff Spotlights

Yael S. (Solelim Staff)
Even while she was in the Health Center, Yael was being nominated — that’s how much of an impact she’s had this session. Yael has poured herself into this session: dancing with campers, comforting them when they’re homesick, and teaching a new Hebrew word each night. She brings energy, warmth, and deep intention to everything she does, creating a strong, joyful Kehillah wherever she goes.

Seth R. (Basketball Specialist)
Seth models all four values with ease. He brings fun and inclusivity to every basketball session, makes campers feel seen and supported, and teaches respect both on and off the court. His positivity is contagious — and his leadership is deeply felt.

Hollie L. (Media Team)
Hollie works behind the camera, but her impact is front and center. Every day, she captures thousands of photos and tells Coleman’s story through her lens. She’s shown resilience, grit, and enormous growth — all for the sake of our Kehillah.
