In the heart of summer, it’s easy to settle into routine. But this week, our campers and staff showed that Coleman values are never on autopilot. Through thoughtful choices, uplifting words, and quiet acts of kindness, they continued to lead with Chesed (kindness), Kehillah (community), Kavod (respect), and Shalom (peace) — shaping a community that sees, supports, and strengthens one another.

Camper Highlights

Chesed

  • Shir O. (Bonim) helped a friend with an injured ankle walk to activities and makes sure everyone feels included. He’s also the first to jump in during pass and stack, setting a strong example for his bunk.

  • Leah G. (Chalutzim) shows up for others — whether walking a friend to the Health Center or spending time with campers outside her cabin. Her patience and quiet support speak volumes.

  • Zachary S. (Chalutzim) spent an entire Mand-Op with his Bonim buddy and their friend, teaching them pickleball and cleaning up the equipment afterward without being asked. He made their day — and modeled responsibility.

  • Jewell S. (Kochavim) shows respect and kindness in every activity, including circus arts where she kept going even when frustrated. Her quiet Chesed lifts up her whole group.

  • Georgia R. (Kochavim) comforted a friend who was upset about leaving camp. Her sweet, gentle presence brought calm and care in an emotional moment.

  • Ava L. (Kochavim) used Chofesh to teach another camper how to make a friendship bracelet — sharing a skill and creating connection.

  • Izzy G. & Ben K. (Nachshonim) supported another camper through a tough section of the Warrior Course, staying with them and encouraging them through the whole challenge.

  • Maya A. (Tsofim) noticed a camper wasn’t feeling well and stayed by their side, offering water, cool towels, and reassurance until help arrived. She’s always ready to step up.

Kavod

  • Jolie F. & Sydney M. (Chalutzim) consistently help in the dining hall and support staff in meaningful, practical ways. Their presence makes a difference.

  • Dylan H. (Tsofim) leads his table in cleanup with pride. He doesn’t just tidy — he inspires others to do the same.

Kehillah

  • Ella S. (Bonim) is always finding ways to help — from sharing supplies during Menucha to encouraging others to try new things. Her smile and spirit bring people together.

  • Daphne W. (Bonim) bonded with the animals in Campscape — and treated them with respect and care. She cleaned pens, monitored their comfort, and made every creature feel safe. Even the goats noticed.

  • Mati Y. (Kochavim) quietly handles his chores — always passing, stacking, and doing nikayon without needing to be reminded.

  • Charlotte B., Alexa J., & Sage P. (Nachshonim) gave up their ideal rafting groups to help staff when numbers didn’t work out — and helped keep their friends happy in the process. That’s what kehillah looks like in real time.

  • Lizzy D. (Nachshonim) notices when someone is down and steps in to lift them up — with words, actions, and a steady presence.

  • Layla K. (Tsofim) supports her whole cabin during nikayon, helping clean even when it’s not her job.

  • Naomi G. (Tsofim) brings joyful energy wherever she goes — dancing, cheering, and building up her friends with positivity and light.

  • Gabe S. (Tsofim) doesn’t need to be asked — he sees what needs to be done and does it. His quiet leadership shines during nikayon and beyond.

Shalom

  • Alice R. (Chalutzim) brings peace and calm to her group. She’s independent but always ready to include someone who needs a friend. Her quiet presence makes others feel at ease.

Staff Spotlights

Ayla G. (Tsofim Staff)
Ayla is the kind of counselor everyone gravitates toward. She supports her unit, uplifts her co-staff, and makes campers feel heard and valued. Whether it’s stepping in during LaB or being a safe space for a camper chat, Ayla lives our values in every interaction.

Lu E. (Tsofim Staff)
Lu creates magic wherever they go — organizing goofy bonding moments, lifting up their unit with energy and humor, and making sure every camper is included and immersed in the moment. They’re dependable, thoughtful, and deeply trusted by campers and staff alike.

Kfir B. (Specialist – Martial Arts)
Kfir teaches martial arts with an unexpected twist: peace. He models Kavod and Shalom in every session — emphasizing care, discipline, and emotional balance. He’s kind-hearted, respected, and an engaged member of every community he joins.

We say it often — camp is built on values. But this week, these campers and staff reminded us that camp is also built on choices. Choosing to help. To notice. To lead. To include. And in those choices, we see the magic.
