At Camp Coleman, mealtime isn’t just about what’s on the plate — it’s about how we nourish the whole camper. With three hearty meals a day and two daily snacks, we make sure everyone stays energized, satisfied, and ready for whatever the day throws their way.
Here’s how it breaks down:
- Breakfast: 8:00 AM (Bonim – Nachshonim), 8:45 AM (Kesher – Machon)
- Lunch: 11:45 AM
- Dinner: 6:05 PM
- Afternoon Snack: 3:40 PM — served between activities, usually cold and refreshing
- Evening Snack: At bedtime — a dry snack to end the day on a sweet (or salty) note
Most days includes one meat meal and two dairy meals, keeping with our kosher-style approach. Because of this setup, you’ll sometimes see vegan meat alternatives on the menu — they allow us to offer protein variety and flexibility without mixing milk and meat.
The daily main course is just the start. Campers also have access to:
- A full salad bar with fresh vegetables, toppings, and protein add-ons
- A warm and ready pasta bar
- Peanut butter and jelly, always available
- Whole fruit is available throughout the day for anyone who needs a quick, healthy bite.
- A robust breakfast bar available daily with cereal, yogurt, hard boiled eggs, and whole fruit
- Eggs, beans, cheese, and yogurt rotating through as additional protein options
- And, on request, a simple deli sandwich for those who just aren’t feeling the main meal
Supporting Dietary Needs
We take food allergies and dietary restrictions seriously. At every meal, allergen information is posted — both on a projector screen and next to the food line — so campers can make informed choices. For those who require alternatives of any kind, we offer a dedicated station with options tailored to meet a wide range of dietary needs. Whether it’s gluten-free, dairy-free, vegetarian, or allergy-conscious, our team is ready to help every camper feel confident and comfortable at the table.
Our kitchen team works hard to make sure every camper can find something they like and something that fuels them for the next activity. Whether it’s a plate full of pasta, a packed salad, or just a quiet PB&J, we believe food should always feel like a comfort and never like a challenge.
At Camp Coleman, we’re building a community — and we do it three meals (and two snacks) at a time.
