A Message From Lindsey Cohen

Camp Coleman has been part of my life for more than two decades, and stepping away from my year-round role is not something I do lightly. I first arrived at camp in 2004 as a camper. In 2015, I returned as a seasonal staff member, and in 2019 I joined the year-round...

Family Camp 2025: A Weekend of Connection and Coleman Magic

Family Camp was a long weekend filled with Shabbat in white, creative prayer experiences, goat cuddles, lake adventures, and a rainy-Sunday pivot that turned into trivia and Israeli dancing. Thank you to all the families who joined us for an incredible weekend — Coleman truly felt like home.

Thankful Thursday: Honoring Bryan Kellert

Camp Coleman is Thankful for Bryan Kellert If there’s a job to be done and you want it done well, with a sense of humor, and maybe a few cow puns along the way, there’s one person Camp Coleman calls: Bryan Kellert. A lifelong Colemanite, Bryan began his journey in...

A Duck, a Chicken, and the Magic of Camp

This summer in Campscape, I witnessed something unforgettable: a duck guarding a chicken as it laid an egg, while campers cared for goats and cuddled chickens nearby. At Camp Coleman, these small but powerful moments embody M’shaneh Makom, M’shaneh Mazel—the idea that in new places, we discover new rhythms, lessons, and connections that enrich our lives.

Summer Spotlight: Lights, Sound, Action at Camp Coleman

This summer, Coleman’s AV program took center stage—literally. From new sound systems to our first-ever follow spotlight in the musical, campers learned to run the tech, design the lighting, and bring performances to life in ways we’ve never seen before.

Recipes from the Garden

Sukkot, which begins this Sunday night, is a holiday to give thanks for the fall harvest. We are thankful for our Campscape garden, and in celebration wanted to share some recipes from the garden! Another Sukkot tradition is to invite friends, family, and even strangers into your sukkah to rejoice- so make some fried green tomatoes and limonana and celebrate Sukkot!

Summer 2018 In Review

Summer 2018 In Review

“My son had an amazing first summer month away experience at Camp Coleman. He enjoyed each activity, had great counselors, made wonderful friends, looked forward to Shabbat, and came home with exciting stories to tell and fun songs to sing. My son is one of only two Jewish people in his elementary school, so being in a place where everyone is Jewish was a special experience for him. We as parents could not be happier.”

Technological Innovation at the Minsky!

Technological Innovation at the Minsky!

What use is an iPad when it comes to art, you may ask? This technological innovation has allowed the campers to go that extra mile in visualizing and researching ideas in order to make their wildest imaginations a thing of creation.

They then had 20 minutes to create and build their societies with details including what they do for fun, how they communicate, how they get around, their customs, their holidays, and any other cool little details they could think up. The campers came up with things like “our national instrument is the…”, and “we only talk using hand motions and claps”.
