The Bonim unit dove headfirst into their first week at Camp Coleman with enthusiastic energy and wide-eyed curiosity. From day one, these youngest campers showed up ready to try new things, make new friends, and soak up every ounce of Coleman magic.
This week was full of firsts: first time sleeping away from home, first s’mores around the campfire, first swim in the lake, first time hearing the dining hall erupt in song and first-time friendships that already feel like they’ve been growing for years. It’s the kind of magic that only happens in Bonim — where everything is brand new, and every moment is a memory in the making.
A standout moment was the Wacky Olympics Bonim Buddies event. Each Bonimer was paired with a camper from Chalutzim, our oldest unit. It was equal parts heartwarming and hilarious to see our youngest and oldest campers racing, laughing, and cheering each other on. The Buddy program has already become a camp favorite — a full-circle moment for Chalutzim campers who remember being in Bonim themselves.
In between goat cuddles and their first adventures in Ceramics, Bonim campers also spent plenty of time in the water. Boating and lake play were huge hits, but perhaps the most memorable water moment came during their unit swim test. Somewhere between splashing and swimming, the campers invented a brand-new unit cheer… and they haven’t stopped shouting it since.
From slip-n-slides on opening day to trying brand-new activities, Bonim is off to an unforgettable start. Here’s to more firsts, more friends, and a whole lot more cheering.
