This week, Bonim showed us what it looks like to grow with heart. From welcoming a whole new crew of 2-week campers to diving headfirst into Trip Day and stepping up to help plan their very first T’fillah service, these youngest campers are already leaving a big impression on Camp Coleman.

As the week began, Bonim staff and returning campers came together to welcome new faces into the unit. The returning campers—many of whom were brand new themselves just a few weeks ago—showed off their cabins, explained how rotations work, and shared their favorite camp traditions. We watched as these connections turned into friendships almost overnight.

Midweek brought the main event: Trip Day at Lake Lanier Water Park! Bonim campers swam, slid, and splashed their way through a full day of fun. There were big laughs, group cheers, and the kind of joy that only comes from conquering your first water slide with your cabin cheering you on. On the ride home, the bus was filled with happy exhaustion and stories of favorite moments—most of which involved ice cream, epic wave pool wipeouts, or both.

Back at camp, the Bonim crew turned their attention to something meaningful on the horizon: planning their upcoming unit-led T’fillah service. With guidance from staff, campers have been exploring what goes into a service—choosing songs, learning prayers, and assigning roles. It’s been a joy to watch them bring curiosity, creativity, and collaboration into the process. Their service is still a few days away, but their excitement is already building.

The week was full of both wild fun and meaningful growth. Whether they were floating in the lazy river or practicing the words to Hashkiveinu, Bonim campers reminded us all why the youngest voices at camp so often say the most.
