A Duck, a Chicken, and the Magic of Camp

This summer in Campscape, I witnessed something unforgettable: a duck guarding a chicken as it laid an egg, while campers cared for goats and cuddled chickens nearby. At Camp Coleman, these small but powerful moments embody M’shaneh Makom, M’shaneh Mazel—the idea that in new places, we discover new rhythms, lessons, and connections that enrich our lives.

This summer, Coleman’s AV program took center stage—literally. From new sound systems to our first-ever follow spotlight in the musical, campers learned to run the tech, design the lighting, and bring performances to life in ways we’ve never seen before.

While all the activities and programs are fun at camp, the campers really enjoyed the Kesher trip this past week!

First Shabbat of 2019!

First Shabbat of 2019!

Get a glimpse of what our first Shabbat will be like! Shabbat at Camp Coleman is led by campers from different units. They choose prayers and write about Shabbat at camp. Here are the readings from our first Shabbat of the first session:

Specialist Spotlight: Aquatics

Specialist Spotlight: Aquatics

The waterfront at Camp Coleman is one of the places where the entire unit can be together, play together and bond together. Not only do the campers have the opportunity to cool off, play around, relax and even learn a bit about activities in and around the water, but they get to further their bonds with new and old friends from other bunks within the same unit.
